Positive Metal Fabrication Reports
Metal fabrication companies across the nation are announcing gains in the amount of orders since January. This year seems to be picking up more than in 2009 and is leading to growing optimism throughout the industry.
Business conditions appear to be approving in metal-forming, with proof of reduced costs and return in profits. A national trade group conducted a survey showing that 52% of those interviewed expected January and February increases in metal-forming orders, while 45% projected to experience an improvement in economic activity for the entire first quarter.
It's not considered to be some huge peak in sales or orders, but more of a steady flow of business that's leading to the positive numbers. This in turn has lead to an increase in engineering jobs and previously laid off workers returning to work.
All in all, the metal fabrication industry appears to be set up for stability and recovery.
